Brighton-based indie singer-songwriter Frances Mistry has returned with her beautiful new cut, ‘our blood’. It’s an impressively textured track that places a heavy, fuzzy instrumental against her soft, ethereal and effortlessly melodic voice. The track climaxes with a distorted guitar solo that drifts and gyrates in harmony with the accompanying music video, which was filmed on… a Nintendo 3DS. “This track is about how whenever allegations come out about men, people rush to defend these men and say the victims must be lying,” she explains. “Especially if these are men with a platform. It’s the frustration with that.” Frances Mistry’s second EP is due for release this summer. -Dan Peeke
